The 4equality project, running from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2025, aims to address the significant challenges faced by young women in male-dominated sectors such as business and STEM. 4equality seeks to provide innovative tools and methodologies to enhance employability and promote equal opportunities for young women encountering bias in these fields.
Despite being well-educated and politically active, young women face substantial barriers in the job market due to technological changes, demographic trends, social exclusion, and gender bias. Women, in general, struggle with unpaid care responsibilities and job market access, but young women are particularly disadvantaged, being two to three times more likely to be unemployed than older adults.
4Equality aims to equip young women with the skills to navigate and mitigate the impacts of gender bias in their professional lives. The project’s objectives are to raise awareness about how gender bias translates into workplace discrimination, develop competencies to help young women protect themselves from bias, and provide youth workers with tools to support young women in building readiness to cope with and react to discrimination. Additionally, the project offers self-development tools to help young women overcome internal barriers and minimize the impact of discriminatory behaviors.
The project will produce key results, such as an e-mentor and support tool for youth workers, tools designed to assist young women in business and STEM fields, and e-training modules designed to equip young women with the necessary skills to navigate gender bias.
4equality is a collaborative effort involving partners across Europe: CENTRUM WSPIERANIA EDUKACJI I PRZEDSIĘBIORCZOŚCI from Poland (project coordinator), E&D KNOWLEDGE CONSULTING LDA from Portugal, ASSOCIATIA DE DEZVOLTARE ESONOMICO-SOCIALA from Romania, LOVILA LIMITED from Cyprus, SPRUDZENIE ZNAM I MOGA from Bulgaria, and ASOCIATIA PENTRU DEZVOLTAREA ANTREPRENORIATULUI FEMININ from Romania.
By providing innovative tools and methodologies, 4equality aims to empower young women, enhance their employability, and promote equal opportunities. Through collaboration and targeted interventions, the project strives to create a more inclusive and equitable job market for young women across Europe.
